Governance
As a responsible company, we want to create a stable and transparent framework for sustainable action. That is why we are committed to a corporate culture of integrity, protecting data and ensuring fair conditions in the supply chain. We have established binding standards - from data protection and security measures to compliance guidelines and responsible supplier selection. In this way, we strengthen trust, minimize risks and assume responsibility throughout our business activities.

We take responsibility for human rights and environmental standards in our supply chain. In order to identify risks at an early stage, we analyze our direct suppliers annually in accordance with the requirements of the German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG). We source goods and services primarily from Germany, the EU or countries with comparable legal standards such as OECD member states. Our purchasing guidelines take ethical, social and ecological criteria into account when evaluating offers. These were further specified in 2023 in an updated declaration of principles for the protection of human rights.
As part of our business relationships, we also ensure compliance with minimum standards via the Group-wide Supplier Code of Conduct (or a comparable regulation with an equivalent level of protection) and the General Terms and Conditions of Purchase. A publicly accessible whistleblower system makes it possible to report human rights or environmental risks in the supply chain anonymously and securely.

For us, working with integrity and in compliance with the law is the basis for sustainable economic activity. Our employees are supported in complying with legal requirements by clear and comprehensible guidelines and work instructions. The Executive Board and managers actively communicate this attitude throughout the company (“tone from the top”), thereby promoting an open and professional corporate culture.
Regular training on anti-corruption is standard practice for us. By signing the Diversity Charter, we are also committed to an appreciative, unprejudiced working environment.
We regularly submit ourselves to external ESG ratings in order to create transparency about our performance in the areas of environment (E), social (S) and responsible corporate governance (G). The assessments by rating agencies give our stakeholders a well-founded assessment of how we perceive our corporate responsibility - and where we can improve further. We are therefore in regular contact with the ESG rating agencies Sustainalytics, MSCI and ISS that are relevant to us. In addition, we have supported the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) since 2018 with the annual disclosure of our climate data as a “CDP Discloser”.
